How It Got Started

I have loved reading and writing my entire life. One of my earliest memories is of typing up an essay about my new friend and neighbour in WordPerfect and feeling incredibly pleased with myself. I should have been, too, because I was 7 and no one else I knew could write anything longer than "Cats like milk."

Now, I'm a twenty-something engineering graduate. I love that aspect of my life, with the logic and the analysis and the cold-hard reality of protecting our water resources, but sometimes I need an escape. Writing fantasy for the older generation of young adults soothed that part of my soul.
